The Use of Technology in Health Care

As a new nursing student, I will be entering practice with the knowledge and ability of how to use technology in the nursing field efficiently and effectively. In my opinion this new knowledge I am being presented with will help communication barriers present today. As nursing shortages increase over the next decade, stress load on remaining nurses will increase as more tasks per nurse will need to be carried out. Computer technology, such as online patient documents and hand held computers for doctors and nurses will make communication fast and efficient. This time saved will lessen the workload on nurses, and as a result patient-nurse care will improve.
